Our design accomplishes the owner’s goals of creating a house that fits within the neighborhood context, creates privacy from the adjacent neighbors and features a minimalist garden.
A reflecting pool crossed by an ipe bridge unites house and garden, where a specimen multi-trunked saucer magnolia is featured.
A long ipe bench marks the border between this tree and a quincunx grove of serviceberry on the other side of the path. At the edge of the lawn, a tall “L” shaped hornbeam hedge provides privacy from the adjacent houses that flank both sides of the property.
Built with an economy of means, this LEED silver certified project employs natural and sustainable materials.
